Academy League Tips by Rhazca

I noticed a lot of players this weekend had trouble blowing all their cooldowns simultaneously, so I made this video to help (with a little help from @GGC | StickItandRun | Fill | S3  ) One of the most important things for players attempting to climb is to learn how to properly layer your crowd control. There’s no point in stunning an already stunned target – apply your cc at the very end of your teammates’ abilities to ensure the maximum amount of control duration possible. For example, here’s a clip from a normal last night:

Another important factor I noticed over the course of the tournament is a kind of panic that sets in with many of our players when approached with enemy ganks. Stay cool – stay collected! Paying attention to what the enemy has available (i.e. resources like Mana) can really help turn the tide in a situation which appears dismal at first. In the following clip, I was being ganked by the enemy jungler, but staying cool & noticing Cho’Gath’s mana pool helped me come out on top. (Shouts out to @GGC | Bark3r | MID | S3 for the nice Aatrox kill in the beginning  )

Tanking Pt. 3 – Communication & Effective Distraction It’s common knowledge when the enemy sees a weakness in your composition (objectives like weak turret health, dead allies, etc.) they will come together & push before you have the opportunity to recoup your losses. This is when it becomes important for your tanks to make things difficult by applying pressure to the enemy without getting killed (not getting killed being the most important part of this statement). With proper communication, you can even convert these obvious distractions into powerful skirmish victories for your team to further your gold & objective leads. Big shout out to my team @GGC | Khang Lee | JGL | G3 @GGC | JegValkyrie | ADC | B2 and @GGC | Diamonfrost19 | B4 for following up on my lead to make a powerful push after coming to my aid
