SUMMARY
Hi guys, as the most unprofessional Talon player I thought I’d share my thoughts on his builds, runes, and an overview of his job. Talon is an assassin, with quick ways to get in and out of a fight while focusing on one shotting his opponents. His early game is very strong as you can easily get a first blood at level 2 or 3 using his passive and spells, along with winning trades. Talon’s early buys for items depends on who he is laning against. If your opponent is a melee champion such as Zed, or Yasuo, you will rush tiamat or serrated dirk, then get the one you didn’t get first afterwards. Tiamat enhances Talon’s already good clear, and dirk add lethality which works with his passive. When fighting an AP champ, a Hexdrinker is good to rush to have better trades. This wasn’t put in the item set, but if there is a mage that you really can’t melee minions, buying corrupting potion at start to farm with W (Rake) will allow you to use it more. Boots are situational, depending on the enemy team you will change boots. If there is a mix, I normally go Boots of Lucidity for the CDR. Ghostblade and Duskblade are must haves for Talon, but it really doesn’t matter which one you get first. Guardian Angel is the next item that should be bought, and then from there it’s situational. If your playing vs. a Tank, most likely going Black Cleaver or Mortal Reminder is best, but Edge of Night and Lord Dominik’s Regards also work. When there is strong AP champ, it’s not bad to fully build the Hexdrinker into a Maw of Malmortius for the Magic Resist. Stormrazor is something I sometimes run on Talon, but it’s not the first situational item you should be buying.
The next thing to cover is runes. Runes are pretty similar from assassin to assassin. Domination Tree primary, running Electrocute, Sudden Impact, Eyeball Collection, and Relentless Hunter for the Movement Speed (Talons a slow dude early lol). The secondary runes are normally going to be Sorcery Tree, but sometimes the Precision Tree with Triumph and Coup de Grace can work. For the Sorcery Tree, running Celerity is good, but after that, Scorch, Water Walking, or Gathering Storm all work. Scorch is good in general because of the little extra damage, and Waterwalking can be nice for fights in rivers, and Gather Storm is good for extra AD gain. Talon overall is not a very complicated champion to use, whose main job to is to kill the carries and squishy targets, and escape out. Here’s a few fun facts about Talon: The more Movement Speed Talon has, the faster he jumps over walls. Talon’s Q can be either a jump that can lead to an immediate auto attack, or be a melee critical hit that leads into a auto attack, so you can change up how you use it. That’s all I have for this overview of Talon. Please press F to pay respects for Talon’s W which will be receiving a nerf ;-;

“Kept alive only by his quick wits and deft thievery, Talon scraped out a living in the seedy underbelly of Noxus. His mastery of the blade quickly marked him as a threat, and Noxian guilds sent assassins to him with a demand: join their ranks or be killed. Talon remained in the shadows, carrying out secret missions on Du Couteau’s orders that took him from the frigid lands of the Freljord to the inner sanctums of Demacia itself.”
